2022 Panerai Luminor 1950 Left Handed 3 Days 47mm PAM00557
Here we have the 2022 Panerai Luminor 1950 Left Handed 3 Days 47mm PAM00557, released in 2014 as a modern take on the Luminor watches of the past. Initially designed for the Italian Navy's frogmen (underwater commandos) in the 1940s and 50s. These commandos often wore a watch on their right wrist, with the crown on the left side, which made it much more comfortable to wear, alongside a compass or depth gauge on their left. The distinctive 47mm polished stainless steel cushion case, with angled thick drilled screw lugs, its curvaceous flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 56.5mm and a thickness of 16mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the left side, a pressed-secured crown with the large crescent crown guard, a Panerai trademark, ensures that the crown is pushed against the case. A polished bezel holds a domed acrylic crystal above a black sandwich dial. The upper level has stencil numerals and batons, with the luminescence coming through from the Luminor-coated lower-level plate. Long fence hands have lume infill. At noon we have ‘Luminor Panerai’. Luminor is based on Luminova and has been developed by Panerai since the 1950s. On the reverse, a screw-down sapphire exhibition case back, inside a manually wound Panerai Cal. P.3000, 21 jewels, 21,600 beats per hour. The movement has two barrels connected in series for up to a 3-day power reserve. It comes paired with its original well-worn 24mm Panerai leather strap with a signed buckle, as well as a 24mm rubber strap. This watch is sold with its original Panerai box, screwdriver and paperwork.
