Here we have a recrafted 2018 Oris Chronoris Date automatic 01 733 7737 4053 on a Rubber strap, inspired by the 1970s ChronOris, their first Chronostop chronograph, very much like the Omega Chronostop and was the beginning of their long and illustrious relationship in motorsport. The 39mm C-shaped brushed and polished stainless steel case comfortably sits on your wrist like a cushion; bevelled leading edges flow effortlessly around the case; a lug-to-lug length of 42.5mm and a case thickness of 12mm give the watch an impressive wrist presence. Down the right side, we have the top crown to adjust the time, date and winding; at 4 o’clock, we have a signed screw-down crown to adjust the silver inner rotating 60-minute bezel with deep knurling for grip. A domed sapphire crystal AR coated on the inside sits above a dynamic sector-style grey and black dial, the inner rotating bezel surrounds a minute track precisely executed, applied baton indexes tipped in orange mark the hours inside a black ring; at 3 o’clock, a framed date window and white baton hands filled with SuperLumiNova are complemented by a tapered orange sweeping second-hand, at 12 o’clock we have the Oris motif, and at 6 o’clock ChronOris 26 jewels complete this vintage-inspired sports watch.
