2024 Grand Seiko Heritage Collection 45GS Limited SLGW005 39mm
Here we have a 2024 Grand Seiko Heritage Collection 45GS Limited SLGW005 limited to 1200 pieces, the impressively sculptured 39mm stainless steel case is a modern interpretation of their iconic 1968 45GS which was their first high-beat manual wind, exquisitely mirror polished and brushed angled surfaces curve over your wrist toward the thick lugs, its polished curved flanks lead to a lug-to-lug of 43.5mm and a case thickness of 10.5mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side is a signed, deep knurled crown sitting slightly recessed. The smooth, polished and brushed bevel sits recessed into the case and holds a box-shaped sapphire crystal, AR-coated on the inside. The off-white dial features an outer minute track surrounding applied, chamfered-edge batons with a black fill on the top surface, which subtly interact with the light as you rotate your wrist. Elegant Dauphine hands are Zaratsu polished with razor edges, complemented by a tapered sweeping second hand. At 12 o’clock, an applied Seiko motif, and at 6 o’clock, an applied ‘GS’ ‘High-Beat’ ‘36000’ completes this distinctive vintage-infused dress watch. On the reverse, we have a screw-down exhibition case back, engraved with the details of the watch and its limited number around its edge, inside a manually wound Grand Seiko Cal. 9SA4, 47 jewels, beating at 36,000 beats per hour, first released in 2020, precisely made at their Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi. The movement features a dual impulse escapement, a Grand Seiko Free sprung balance, and twin barrels that deliver increased power. It has been adjusted to six positions and three different temperatures over 17 days at the factory, and includes a power reserve indicator. The movement is finished with attractive Côtes de Genève decoration. It comes paired with its original Seiko 19mm crocodile leather strap and signed pin buckle, and includes its Seiko presentation box, swing tag, and papers.
