Here we have the incredible 2022 Grand Seiko Spring Drive Karesansui SBGY029G Limited Edition of 36/50 pieces, launched to celebrate the grand opening of their flagship London, Bond Street Boutique in 2022.Ā The impressively sculptured 38.5mm stainless steel case has perfect polishing, something we sometimes take for granted on a GrandĀ Seiko; itās not until we have one on the wrist that we can truly appreciate the sheer brilliance of the Zaratsu polishers; the curvaceous brushed flanks lead to a lug-to-lug of 43mm and a case thickness of 10mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. A signed crown sits slightly recessed on the right side, and a smooth, chamfered bezel holds a box-shaped sapphire crystal. The cream dial has a mesmerising spiral effect inspired by Karesansui, the distinctive arrangement of a Japanese Zen garden with its curving lines of sand, positioning of its moss and rocks to provide the perfect place to relax and meditate, an outer minute track surrounds applied Zaratsu polished facet-edged indexes marking the hours, elegant Dauphine hands are Zaratsu polished with razor edges complemented by a black tapered sweeping second hand. The movement has hacking for your convenience. The high torque movement has 200 components and is Grand Seiko's second thinnest movement, expertly decorated with blued screws.
