2020 Fears Brunswick 38 ‘Midas’ Polar White ‘Upgraded Case’
Here we have an early 2020 Fears Brunswick Midas I Polar White with an updated Midas II case. Very few pieces of the Midas 1 were ever produced; each piece has its serial number engraved between the 20mm lugs at 12 o’clock. The 38mm upgraded Midas II is gold-plated, the curvaceous flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 43mm and a case thickness of 11.5mm for a comfortable cushion fit; on the right side is a traditional “onion-shaped crown. A domed sapphire crystal sits above an incredible Midas White dial, which is a hand-polished white lacquer. Black numerals are inspired by those used by Fears in 1946. Each set of hands is subtly skeletonised. On the reverse, we have a solid stainless steel case back with a spun circular-grained finish; inside, we have a hand-wound ETA 7001, 17 jewels, and 18,000 beats per hour. It comes paired with three Fears straps, two short and one regular. The watch comes with its Fears presentation box, clamshell case and original Fears paperwork, plus Fears updated case paperwork.
