The Watch
Here we have a 2019 Longines Heritage Military Automatic L2.819.93.2 is a recreation of their 1940s British Royal Air Force watch, the 38.5mm brushed stainless steel case has a subtle curve to the tapered lugs with a lug-to-lug length of 47mm and a case thickness of 11mm ensuring a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side, a signed domed crown with deep knurling for extra grip, a smooth polished bezel holds a flat sapphire crystal AR coated on the underside above an Ivory coloured dial with hand finishing, an outer minute track is precisely executed with large Arabic numerals marking the hours, distinctive thermally blued steel hands complemented by tapered sweeping second-hand complete this vintage military inspired timepiece, at 12 o’clock we have the Longines motif. On the reverse “The Longines Heritage Military” is engraved into the case back, inside an automatic Longines Cal. L888, 21 jewels, 25,200 beats per hour, based on the ETA A31.L11 the movement has hacking and hand winding for your convenience. The watch comes fitted on a 19mm NATO strap with a signed buckle, plus an additional 19mm Longines Vintage style leather strap with a signed buckle and comes with its Longines presentation box, spring bar removal tool and paperwork.

You don't often see a watch at this price point that is truly unique to each other model, the fact that the dials are finished by hand means no two of the same reference are the same, which to me is brilliant and only adds to the charm of this vintage-inspired watch. I've said it before and I'll say it again, heritage watches like this are perfect for the person who wants the look of vintage without all the potential hassle and headaches that come along with vintage, so snap this one up if that is you!

Purchased in 1971 by ‘Ebauches SA’, Swiss watchmakers SSIH who owned Omega, Tissot and Lemania and ASUAG who owned Certina, Endura, Eterna, Hamilton, Longines, Mido and Rado. were merged in 1983 to become the Swatch Group in 1998.
