The Watch
Here we have an exquisitely designed 2015 Speake-Marin Piccadilly Serpent Calendar Blue 10006-04 with a 42mm titanium case, screwed-in lugs with a lug-to-lug length of 53mm and a case thickness of 10.5mm give the watch an impressive wrist presence. The polished and brushed round case has an onion-style signed crown, and a stepped polished bezel holds a domed sapphire crystal AR coated above a multi-layered white and blue lacquer dial. Large Roman numerals mark the hours, and in the centre, a blued steel disc with the date numerals around its outer edge, and an attractive serpent pointer indicates the date. Elegant Speake-Marin spade hands complemented by a tapered second hand sit majestically in the centre. On the reverse an exhibition case back with sapphire crystal, inside an automatic Hybrid Vaucher 3002, 28 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour, this in-house movement has Rhodium plating, a Tungsten rotor, ceramic ball bearing, and circular-grained finishing. The watch comes paired with a 20mm hand-made leather strap with a signed Speake-Marin clasp and an additional 20mm Speake-Marin leather strap, and the watch also comes with its Speake-Marin presentation box, travel case and reissued paperwork.

Founded in 2002 by Peter Speake-Marin, a British master watchmaker. He graduated from Hackney Technical College in London in 1985. He ran his operation from Bursins Switzerland later in 2019 moving to Geneva. Inside their Creation Studio, they design movements, dials, and hands taking inspiration from modern art and their surroundings. In 2017 Peter left Speake-Marin to start a new project in watchmaking education online. Today Speake-Marin SA is owned by the Rosnoblet family, who owns Provencia, a part of the Carrefour hypermarket chain found in the Rhône-Alpes region of France. Christelle Rosnoblet is the CEO of Speake-Marin SA and has been with the company since 2012.
