Here we have a 1970s Zenith Defy Automatic 2552 PC Date A3642. The 37mm scalloped polygon-shaped stainless steel case curves gently over your wrist, and the distinctive profile has a 44mm lug-to-lug length and a case thickness of 12.5mm, so you can be sure of a comfortable fit on the wrist. On the right side is a signed coin-edged crown, and the polished scalloped bezel holds a domed crystal. The attractive grey Fumé dial has an outer minute track with Tritium plots at the hour, applied steel cube indexes with a prominent ridge pattern marking the hours, adding interest and dimension to the dial, and at 4.30, we have a date window. Steel sword hands have Tritium infill complemented by a counterweighted sweeping second-hand; at 12 o’clock, the Zenith motif “ Automatic” underneath and at 6 o’clock “, Defy” completes this attractive sporty, unapologetically 1970s timepiece.
