1954 Movado 'Gentleman' 18ct Yellow Gold 8423 With Box & Papers

Here we have a charismatic 1954 Movado 'Gentleman' 18ct Yellow Gold 8423 sold with its rare original Box & Papers. A 34mm 18ct Yellow Gold French-made case that curves over your wrist with straight lugs. Sharp, crisp edges lead to a lug-to-lug length of 40mm, and a case thickness of just 8mm ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. On the right side is a coin-edged crown, and a smooth bezel holds a domed acrylic crystal above a spectacular and unusual 18ct Yellow Gold dial. Applied 18ct Gold baton indexes mark the hours, and their chamfered edges play with the light as you rotate your wrist. In the centre, a square of Guilloche with the elegant 18ct Yellow Gold Dauphine hands and a small seconds crosshair sub-dial at 6 o’clock. On the reverse a snap-off case back, inside a bumper automatic Movado Cal. 115, 17 jewels, beating at a leisurely 18,000 beats per hour. The movement was in production from 1951 until 1959 and was one of the thinnest automatics. It comes paired with an 18mm leather strap and a plated Movado pin buckle and comes with its rare Movado presentation box and paperwork.
